I am happy you have taken the time to learn about your options for a safe and satisfying pregnancy and birth.
I have lived and worked in the south bay my entire life.  I had my own children here and have worked with birthing families since 2001.  All this time I have worked to create natural options for families in my community.  In doing so I began as a doula, then went to school and became a midwife to have more control over my clients' experiences, and offer a more holistic approach than what is currently available in our area.  I offer midwifery care for both Home Birth and birth at the Birth Center.
Numerous studies have shown that births attended by licensed, certified midwives at birth centers are not only safe but cost effective as well.

Birth center birth is appropriate and a great choice for women who are essentially healthy. The birth center provides a spacious environment, fully stocked with the clinical and comfort necessities for an unmedicated birth.  In addition, midwives practicing at Casa Natal follow the midwifery model of care, and abide by the standards and practice guidelines of the Midwives Alliance of North America

Casa Natal is a freestanding birth center.

The birth center is designed for every comfort available for a natural birth.  If you want a drug free birth, you are much more likely to get it at Casa Natal than at a hospital.  The two spacious and light-filled birth suites were designed to promote serenity with their soothing colors and clean decor. It has been designed for warmth, relaxation, privacy, optimal comfort and ease of use. Deep tubs are available to provide the most comfortable experience possible for laboring women. Exercise balls, a birth stool, and a shower are among the additional features and "tools" available to women at Casa Natal.

  • Deep soaking tubs for labor and/or birth

  • A separate shower room

  • Family area with kitchen facilities

  • Soft, calming colors, clean and spacious decor

  • Wireless internet access (free)

Affordable and free of routine interventions.

Birth at Casa Natal is much less expensive than at a hospital, making it especially helpful for families without insurance or with a high deductible.  If you have a PPO insurance, you are very likely to be reimbursed.

There are no facility policies to get around at Casa Natal. There are no mandated IV's, no routine inductions after you reach your due date, and a trial of labor for VBAC is happily supported.  There are no routine interventions mandated by the facility. You and your midwife make the decisions about what is appropriate for you, your baby, and your birth.

You and your baby will never be separated. All care for your baby is provided right in your room by your midwife.

While there is plenty of safety equipment available (like fetal monitors, IVs and oxygen), you'll never know it's there unless you need it.
